About DriveTestWatch

DriveTestWatch grew out of our founder’s experience helping his oldest child schedule a driving test. Their local DMV office was booked for weeks, and the available dates were difficult to fit around a school schedule. After a frustrating search, they traveled to a more distant office simply because it had an opening.

Our founder—a working father in the aviation industry—built DriveTestWatch to give other families a simpler option: choose the offices and dates that work for you, then let the service watch for an earlier opening instead of repeatedly checking appointment availability yourself.

DriveTestWatch monitors publicly available behind-the-wheel test appointment information at the California DMV offices a customer selects. The monitoring system is scheduled to check for availability every 10 minutes, including nights and weekends. When a scheduled check finds a new matching opening, DriveTestWatch attempts to send an email alert and, if selected, an SMS alert showing the office, date, and time.

Appointment availability can change quickly, and another person may book an opening before you do. DriveTestWatch cannot guarantee that an opening will occur or that an appointment will still be available when you respond to an alert.
